Monza is always a special Grand Prix. I’ve been coming here every year ever since 2008 when I did Formula BMW. I even raced here in Formula 3 earlier this year when I ended up on the podium.

Many of the teams tend to do a lot of testing during the winter or during the middle of the year. It’s the most important time to develop the car and do loads of laps to assimilate the car’s capabilities.

Ever since I was a little boy, I have always had a passion for cars. I have always had the passion about the engineering, the design and the art of cars. I also enjoy reading about what the car is capable of doing.

Right after my race in Nurburgring, Bruce (my driver coach) and I planned out a 3-day training camp in Switzerland. Switzerland is known to be one of the best training venues because of its high altitude mountains.

I started my day by taking an early flight from London to Cologne with my mum. It’s round five of my British F3 Championship at Nurburgring, and returning to this track is always special. Last time I was there was back in 2009, in Formula BMW, but back then we never had time to wander around to see the facilities and other parts of the track, as that series ran with Formula 1, and it was always a busy schedule when you ran together with the top motor racing championship in the world.

I was approached by M68 late last year and they told me about their bioceramic materials. I was really curious to try it because I’ve been hearing a lot of positive feedbacks about it from a few sportsmen. I was told Sebastien Loeb is using it himself!

Drivers have been heavily involved with simulators ever since the FIA announced the ban on testing. Not just for Formula 1, even for junior formulas. We are only given limited days of testing during the winter and during the season.
